- 8. Registration Process
GST Registration is a long process that involves submission of many business details and documents. Anyone that becomes liable to obtain GST registration should get a GST registration within 30 days from the date they become liable. To register for GST on the Government site, one should follow the steps given below carefully -

After successfully filling out both parts of the application process, the application is finally submitted on the portal. It takes around 10-15 days to process the application, if the authorities are satisfied with your application they will issue you a GST registration Certificate as well as a GST Identification number.

- If the offender fails to pay or underpays the tax owed erroneously, then the penalty is 10% of the tax amount or Rs. 10,000, whichever is higher.
- The penalty will be at 100% of the tax amount due when the offender has not filed for GST registration with the intention to purposefully avoid it.
